I knew Nick, though I was not aware of his athletic accomplishments.
What I do know is that he was a lovely person. I always looked forward
to our encounters.
I am greatly saddened at the loss and send my thoughts out to his family.
He will be remembered and missed.

When I learned about his English Channel crossing, the incredulous look on my face caused him to smile and modestly say "The skinny ones usually don't make it."

> On behalf of our community, I send our deep condolences to his wife Nancy and family.
